Two Doves - Take 2

Here you can see the male dove preening. You can see his head extended as it is normally. This picture gives you a far better idea of just how small the head of this bird is in comparison with the rest of the body.

Two Doves

Yeaterday, in the driveway, two Mourning Doves (male and female) sat together and preened eachother for about two hours. I got some photos of it, but this one I felt was the best one of the day. I love the way they are sitting together.
(Note: The male is the one in front with eyes open, the female has her eyes closed. You can identify male from female but a slight blue stripe running down the top of his head, the head of the female is all brown.)

Before I knew what these birds were called I use to call them the "oddbirds with the queer little heads". In this photo they have their heads tucked down, but useually the head is extended betraying how little the neck and head is in comparison the the rest or their body. It really is amusing. Perhaps I will post a photo of this tomorrow.

Out of Focus - But I found it Somewhat Amusing

This is an out of focus picture of a painted seashell. I just thought the colours were nice, and it looked a bit like something else altogether. By no means a very good photo, but it amuses me somewhat. Thought I'd share.

Because It's Summer, And I Love My Shoes!

I know I've been not around for a long time, but here I am again. This is a picture of me in my "old reliables" as I call them. I love these sandles because they have a history to them. I've had them for 8 years now. And they still look great. I wear them everywhere - through water, mud, banging about. I'm constantly amazed at what I put these sandles through every year, and they've yet to even start to fall apart.

Expect over the next little while at least two more shoe photos. I got two new pairs recently, and I'm very pleased with them. lol.

Zebra Socks

I've started to take pictures of a series of socks. I did several photos yesterday but only one of the shots of the Zebra pair came out the way I wanted so I decided to post it here. So yeah, these are my knee length zebra toe socks.

The Things You Can Find at a Yard Sale

I thought I'd post a picture that had to do with some of my adventures this weekend. I bought two small boxes of - all things to find at a yard sale - vinyl tiles. They're old and brittle so they're no good for flooring anymore, but perfect for me to make something out of at some point. Quite the find. Only 2 dollars for 52 of them.

Sorry about the past couple days

I was very busy this weekend. I didn't get the chance to take pictures or to get on the computer. However, first thing tomorrow morning, there will be another image waiting for you. Also, don't expect photos to be uploaded next weekend as that's Mother's day weekend and my Mom and I will be travelling to my Grandmother's house for the weekend.
